2019-2020 Awards

KANUNGO AWARD:   JASMINE GREY

The Annapurna Kanungo Award was established in memory of the wife of Dr. Kalpataru Kanungo, WCSU professor emeritus, who was a biology faculty member for more than 22 years. This is given as an award during honors convocation to a graduating senior who attended WCSU for a minimum of two consecutive years, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and who is chosen by the faculty of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences.

 

MOST PROMISING BIOLOGY MAJOR AWARD:   JACOB M. BETHIN 

This award is given to an early-career biology major who has completed a minimum of six credits in biology courses at WCSU, with a GPA of at least 3.0. The award is based on academic performance, involvement with the department, and overall evidence of promise. This award requires a nomination by a biology faculty member.  

 

OUTSTANDING GRADUATING SENIOR BIOLOGY MAJOR AWARD:   

JONAH WHITESIDE CHRISTOPHER S. MARJI 

Biology majors (all options) graduating in the current academic year are eligible. Award is based on overall GPA at WCSU.
