DEPARTMENT AWARD IN INTERDISCIPLINARY SOCIAL SCIENCES:  CIARA G. CARRUTHERS 

This award is presented to a student in the Department of Social Sciences who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship in, and service to, the interdisciplinary social sciences program. 

HOWARD G. POST SOCIOLOGY RECOGNITION AWARD:  LAUREN CONRAD 

This award was established by a sociology faculty member, the late Thomas F. Howard, in memory of his uncle. The award recognizes a student in the Department of Social Sciences who has shown outstanding participation and scholastic achievement in the discipline of sociology.  

LEONARD A. DENTE ECONOMICS RECOGNITION AWARD:  LUKASZ ZBROSZCZYK 

This award was established to honor Economics Professor Emeritus Leonard A. Dente for his dedicated service to the university. The award recognizes a student in the Department of Social Sciences who has shown outstanding participation and scholastic achievement in the discipline of economics.  

ROSA PARKS AWARD FOR GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP:  BAKHTAWAR IZZAT 

This award recognizes the academic excellence and breadth of knowledge exhibited throughout the selected student’s undergraduate career at WCSU. 

RUSSELL FRYER POLITICAL SCIENCE RECOGNITION AWARD:  KIMBERLY G. WROBLEWSKI 

This award was established to honor Professor Emeritus Dr. Russell Fryer for his dedicated service to the university. The award identifies a student in the Department of Social Sciences who has shown outstanding participation and scholastic achievement in the discipline of political science. 

TRUMAN A. WARNER ANTHROPOLOGY AWARD:  CHAELI E. ALLEN

This recognition award was established to honor Professor Emeritus of Anthropology Dr. Truman A. Warner for his dedicated service to the university. The award recognizes the outstanding student in the Department of Social Sciences in terms of participation and scholastic achievements in the discipline of anthropology. 

THE WCSU-AAUP STEVEN WARD COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD:  WILLIAM SILVIA, JR.  

The WCSU-AAUP Steven Ward Community Service Award is given to an undergraduate student who has an outstanding record of service to the university and/or the community. The award is made by the WCSU-AAUP Executive Committee in the spring semester. The criterion for selection: the student must have an outstanding record of service. The award comes with a gift of $750.00.
