Debra Manente.

Debra (Debbie) Mallick Manenté is a licensed guidance counselor and career coach who has over 20 years of experience in workforce development whiling working with higher education. She is the current associate director, and applied learning coordinator, for WCSU’s Career Success Center. Her expertise is extensive, and she is proud to have worked under Connecticut's Workforce Initiative regarding the federal Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), where she successfully counseled the homeless, long-termed unemployed, veterans, and those incarcerated, to bridge the skills gap and to find and retain employment.

Currently, she counsels college students and alumni of all ages, and backgrounds, and is a certified résumé writer through the Professional Associated of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches (PARWCC). She has written over 4,000+ résumés and cover letters and offers a multitude of workshops and career related classes to help students and alumni brand and market themselves so they can reach their lifelong career goals. Each year, she oversees the implementation and production of up to six career fairs and continuously networks with over 23,000 national employers to learn of potential opportunities in which she can share with students and alumni.

She is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication; a Master of Education degree, with a double concentration in school counseling, and psychology, from Cambridge College; and a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. She has been privileged to have worked in the Media and Broadcasting industry for 12 years, along with working for schools such as New Horizon’s Computer Learning Center, a Microsoft partner; and Post University, where she was the associate director of Career Services and adjunct professor.

She has volunteered for over 100 causes and has raised over $40,000 for Veterans and Cancer research. She is enthusiastic about sharing her wisdom with others and enjoys seeing her students and alumni reach their many career goals.
