When considering colleges, the choice to enroll at Western was an easy one for Nina Wojtkiewicz. "WCSU had everything I wanted," she says. "I would be able to play volleyball and softball here, as well as major in Justice and Law Administration."

Wojtkiewicz decided to major in Justice and Law Administration because of her strong interest in law enforcement. "I admire the traits that it takes to become a police officer," she says. "It is a field that will always be there and I will be proud to be a part of it."

While here, the student-athlete found several resources to help her with her journey. "Multiple members of the Western community always helped me with anything I needed," she says. "I could go to both coaches with any questions about my schedule, and my adviser, Professor of Justice and Law Administration Dr. Chuck Mullaney, has helped me throughout my college experience."

Asked what she will remember most about her time at Western, Wojtkiewicz says, "My most memorable experiences come from the sports that I have played. Between volleyball and softball, we have been to the NCAA tournament three times. Winning the LEC tournament is a feeling that is almost indescribable until you get to experience it for yourself."

After graduation, Wojtkiewicz plans to become a police officer and "possibly further my education once I have settled in my career with a department that permits you to go back to school."

Wojtkiewicz’s advice to new students entering WCSU is: “Try new things and be involved at the school. Attend class and don’t be afraid to meet new people because networking could be an important part of your future.”
