First Year Program :

Not Anymore: Sexual Violence Prevention

Objectives

The WCSU Not Anymore program contains interactive, online learning modules designed to educate the student viewer on key prevention programming that is related to sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking on college campuses. This online prevention program offers impactful student testimonials and content comprehension supporting the prevention of interpersonal violence.

These prevention programs immerse student viewers in real lives of students.  To help build student viewer empathy and understanding on the importance of reducing interpersonal violence, testimonials from survivors and real bystanders, and to see real experiences with healthy and unhealthy relationships.

The objective of the program is to promote safety, emotional empathy, and social connections.  In particular:

  • Safety: Student viewers will better understand contemporary research and cutting-edge education theories on interpersonal violence.  Viewers benefit from content-based on social norming theory and motivational bystander techniques.,
  • Emotional: Student viewers build empathy for survivors of interpersonal violence while emphasizing the risks viewers themselves can face.
  • Social: Student viewers will have access to peer presenters, testimonials and peer-based scenarios.  Viewers connect to the material without feeling preached at or talked down to.
