Whether you study in the Macricostas School of Arts & Sciences, the Ancell School of Business, the School of Professional Studies, or the School of Visual & Performing Arts, you will benefit from small classes, state-of-the art labs, academic support services, a brand-new Dining Hall and a Health and Wellness Center.

We have free transportation between our campuses, and four dorms including two with apartment-style living. There are two Student Centers/dining halls, two libraries, many personalized tutoring services, gyms and workout rooms, an indoor pool and a large athletics complex.

Tuition for International Students

A full year of tuition for an undergraduate student is $16,095 and for a graduate student is $18,469.

Take the following steps to start your WCSU application:

  • 1.

    Officially apply and pay $50 processing fee. This can be done online at www.wcsu.edu/admissions/apply/

  • 2.

    Provide a photocopy of your current visa.
  • 3.

    Take one of four tests for English – the TOEFL is the most popular, and you must meet WCSU’s required score on any of the tests.
  • 4.

    File an affidavit of financial support proving you can provide for a full year of tuition, fees, room and board, health insurance and books. If you will live with a family in the U.S., then you must provide a letter from them stating they will accept the responsibility of housing you (room and board), which will reduce your affidavit by about $13,000.
  • 5.

    Have an Educational Service evaluate your education in your country. If you have attended college there, or any other country outside the U.S., then we must have a course-by-course evaluation of your education. If you have not attended school beyond the equivalent of U.S. high school, then we can use a document-to-document evaluation.

Western Connecticut State University is located in the New England region of the American Northeast. Close to major cities, ocean beaches and mountain retreats, our area offers plenty of hiking, adventure sports, skiing and lake activities in four unique seasons.

One of the safest cities in the USA, Danbury, Connecticut offers many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Trains and busses take you to New York City or Boston (and many other New England cities). There are several major airports servicing our area. Along with campus social activities, you’ll enjoy exploring our region of the United States.
