Our Mission

As ARMs, we encourage residents to balance academics and everyday life. With the assistance of our peers and campus resources, we create opportunities that support ongoing success.

What will you find here?

Welcome to the ARM Academic Success Spot. As you know, each of your buildings has at least one ARM, or Academic Resource Mentor. But there are lots of you, and they can't be everywhere at once, so we've created this page to provide you with some resources that you can access when your ARM isn't there to help.

Who and what are the ARMs?

ARMs are Academic Resource Mentors -- peers whose goal is to help you find the information, locate the resources, and connect you to people who can help you in your academic endeavors. They provide academic and life skills programming, too. More importantly, they serve as academic coaches, and working with them, you can identify issues that may be making your studies difficult, and begin to use strategies that will give you the ability to change the outcomes you want to change.

ARMs have office hours in your halls, when you can see them to get assistance. They are students, just like you! They can also help you touch base with PASS members, student volunteers who offer tutoring or assistance in subjects they do well in.

Hello everyone! My name is Vera Boatemaa (she/her), and I’m a Senior and my major is Nursing. I'm so excited to be serving as the Academic Resource Mentor (ARM) for Centennial Hall this semester!

I’m looking forward to welcoming all our new and continuing students and getting to know everyone in the Centennial community. As an ARM, my role is not only to support you academically but also to help create a welcoming, supportive, and comfortable environment where everyone feels heard and encouraged.

A little about me: I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. In my free time, I enjoy cooking and singing!

Whether you have questions, need academic support, want help finding campus resources, or simply need someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help!

Hello! My name is Bryan, and I am so excited to begin my first year as an Academic Resource Mentor(ARM) in Litchfield Hall. I am a Junior Double Major in Acting and Music here at WCSU as well as a student of the Kathwari Honors Program. I also serve as an e-board member to Shuffle! The tap-dance club on campus. Some hobbies of mine: I really enjoy reading, drawing, or just sitting down and enjoying a good movie or a board game with friend!

As an ARM, I am here to support you guys in any way academically. Whether you're looking for some study tips, a tool or resource to use on campus, or just someone to chat with about navigating college life, I am here for you! Let's make this a fantastic year together!

Hello everyone! My name is Azayda and I am your Academic Resource Mentor for Pinney Hall for the 2026-2027 academic year. I am a senior BFA Musical Theatre major, and I am from Terryville, CT. This is my third year in Housing and Residence Life, and I was also a Summer Orientation RA this past summer. I graduated from The Bushnell’s Ensign-Darling New Voices in 2023 under their Vocal Fellowship scholarship. Outside of HRL and academics, you will find me hanging out with my friends, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and thrifting for cosplay. Come and say hello during my office hours!
