Weather Center : WCSU’s Weather Team

Gail Murray

From a young age Gail wanted to be a meteorologist. She was always captivated by the weather and all the dynamics of it.  She is an international student from the Caribbean and ventured to the United States to pursue a degree in meteorology, which is not offered in her country. She has witnessed many different hurricanes, including Ivan in 2004, which sparked her interest in hurricane development.  Further interest in the field of meteorology stemmed from being in New England and experiencing her first snowstorm in 2013. Gail volunteers in the WestConn Weather Center and has grasped a lot of the key concepts in weather. She is a member of the Meteorology Club, the Honors Student Organization (HSO) and the University Kathwari Honors Program. She believes in achieving great things… no matter the circumstances she faces in life.   Gail’s philosophy states that “the utmost goal to succeed in any areas of life is earned through hard work and determination.”
