Steven Matregrano

Steven is a senior in the meteorology program at Western Connecticut State University. He is working to earn a B.S. degree under the operational track in meteorology. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, Steven’s passion for weather began at a very young age. He would step in front of the TV and pretend to give the forecast to his family. Steven also spent most of his free time watching The Weather Channel. He was fascinated by all types of weather phenomena, although his primary interest was winter storms. The passion for weather continued through high school when he met his 9th grade physical science teacher and discussed a potential career in meteorology. Steven has worked for the Weather Center at WCSU forecasting the weather for various newspapers in Connecticut including the Hartford Courant, Record Journal, Waterbury Republican, and the New London Day. Steven recently completed an internship in meteorology with WTNH News 8. Anxious to complete his meteorology degree, Steven plans to be an on-camera meteorologist. In his free time, he likes spending time with his family, playing softball, and playing the drums.
