Giving at WCSU

Where To Give

Annual Giving

Each year WCSU alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff have pulled together and expressed their loyalty to the University through their annual donations.  Regardless of size, every gift is greatly appreciated and demonstrates your commitment to Western.

Annual gifts are unrestricted dollars which are spent during the year they are received. Unrestricted gifts allow for the greatest flexibility to address the greatest need or opportunity across the University or within a specific area of your choice.

Endowed Giving

An endowed gift is a gift that keeps giving for generations to come.  When you establish an endowed fund with the WCSU Foundation, the principal of your gift is carefully invested to generate revenue for a purpose of your choice in perpetuity.  Endowments can be established for something that has special meaning to you that is related to WCSU’s educational purpose, or you can contribute to an existing endowment of your choice. There are numerous opportunities to establish new named endowments, such as scholarships, career preparation, experiential learning programs and many other academic and student focused opportunities. Gifts to establish new endowments have specified minimum funding levels. For more information, please contact JuliePryor-Bennett (203) 837-8111.

Estate & Planned Gifts

Planned gifts, also called deferred or estate gifts, are ways for you to plan for the future, realize your charitable goals, and make a gift to WCSU. Among the most common types of planned gifts are bequests (a gift by will), life insurance, charitable gift annuities that pay you income, and gifts of IRA and other retirement assets. Planned gifts also include trusts (testamentary, charitable lead, and charitable remainder), gifts of appreciated assets and more.  Click here for more information on planned giving.
