Current Facilities Projects which may impact University operations

 

 

Midtown Student Center Roof Replacement

Thursday, October 30th through Monday, January 10th

Roof replacement work on the Student Center continues. While service interruptions are not expected, there may be times during the day where noise and disruptions may take place.

Berkshire Hall Recreation Center Construction

Thursday, December 4th through Wednesday, January 15th

Construction continues on the new Recreation Center located on the first floor of Berkshire Hall. Noise and dust from drywall installation, flooring work, and duct work installation will continue through the week. Expect intermittent power shutdowns on Saturday morning December 6th.

Higgins Annex TV Studio Construction

Thursday, December 4th through Wednesday, January 15th

Construction continues on the development of a new Visual Production Studio for the Communications Department. Electrical work and light construction may disrupt class activities on floors above or below

HA 101.

Higgins Hall Student Lounge

Sunday, December 7th through Thursday, January 15th

Construction will start on a new Student Lounge in Higgins Hall 112A. Anticipate noise and dust from the installation of new drywall and ceilings.

West Side Athletic Stadium

Sunday, December 7th through Sunday, December 21st

Domestic hot water system repairs will take place restoring hot water service to restrooms and showers. Commercial welders will be generating dust and light smoke odors may be noticeable in the locker room levels of the building.

All Buildings

Emergency lighting testing and maintenance

Wednesday, December 3rd through Friday, December 19th

 

Licensed inspectors will be conducting quarterly inspections and testing emergency lighting systems in all University buildings. Uniformed inspectors from Life Safety Services will need to enter all spaces on campus during this period. Disruptions are expected to be limited but you may notice illuminated emergency fixtures during this time.

Fixed Extinguishing Systems testing and maintenance

Monday, January 5th

 

Licensed inspectors will be conducting inspections and testing of fixed extinguishing systems in all University buildings. Uniformed inspectors from Stuart White Company will need to enter all spaces on campus on this day.
