As winter looms, several offices are preparing for weather conditions that could adversely affect the university. As you are aware, snow sometimes causes us to delay the university’s opening, close early, or to close for an entire day.

Weather notices will be posted on the university homepage at www.wcsu.edu and will be sent via the new Everbridge notification system. If you were enrolled in the previous emergency notification system, you will continue to receive notices via Everbridge. If you were not enrolled and wish to receive such notifications, information is provided at www.wcsu.edu/ens/. Delays and closings will also be posted on the university’s Facebook and Twitter feeds, and some area television and radio stations.

When the university announces a delayed opening, classes will begin and offices will open at the time given in the announcement. This applies even when classes are normally scheduled to begin earlier than the announced opening. For example, if a class begins at 9:55 a.m. and the university opens at 10 a.m., students and faculty will report to the 9:55 a.m. class when we open at 10 a.m.

When the university closes early, all offices will close and all classes must end at the announced time.
