Message from the Dean

Thank you for visiting the School of Professional Studies at Western Connecticut State University.

Whether your interest is focused upon clinical aspects of patient care, promoting health in the community, concern over social issues or providing an outstanding education for the future, the School of Professional Studies can open the door to your future. Our Programs in Education, Education Psychology, Nursing, Health Promotion and/or Social Work will provide you with the knowledge and training for an exciting future in these professional disciplines. In addition to undergraduate degrees in each of these fields we offer Masters degrees in Nursing, Education and Education Psychology as well as Doctoral degrees in Education and Nursing. Together, our program offerings cover the spectrum from entry level to advanced practice. Programs are fully accredited as required and new accreditations are achieved as needed.

An important feature of the programs in The School of Professional Studies is the cutting-edge internship experience that you will have. Through hands-on experiences you will integrate critical thinking, theory and professional skills into your work. Your practical experience will happen in clinical and community sites that are recognized as among the finest available and distinguish our programs because of their strong support. You will graduate with knowledge and skills that will enable you to enter one of our exciting professions.
