2014 It’s not a secret anymore – founder of popular website to give lecture at WCSU

DANBURY, CONN. — There are secrets that some people hold onto for a long time. Sometimes they fade, sometimes they fester, and sometimes they just need to be told.

Frank Warren, founder and curator of the online PostSecret project, collects and shares secrets. On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 8 p.m., Warren will give a lecture at Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the Western Connecticut State University Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard. Postcards are sent to 13345 Copper Ridge Road, Germantown, Maryland 20874, and posted on Sunday nights.

Warren, who started PostSecret in 2004, has also published several books on the project and will also be signing books at the event. His website has attracted more than 100 million viewers and he has received hundreds of thousands of postcards.

Tickets are available at the door. WCSU students are $5 and general admission tickets are $20.
