Concurrent Enrollment Program

Sometimes referred to as Dual Credit or Early College, Western Connecticut State University’s Concurrent Enrollment Program gives you, as a high school student, a chance to discover and explore your academic interests and passions while experiencing college-level work. 

Dual Credit classes taken through WCSU will be included on your high school transcript. You will receive credit towards university courses — and get a great start on your higher education.

Fall/year-long course registration deadline: Sep. 9

Fall Add/drop period: Sep. 17-26

Last date to withdraw for Fall: Dec. 15

Spring registration deadline: Jan. 30

Spring Add/drop period: Feb. 12-20

Last date to withdraw for spring or year-long courses: May 15

*You must obtain the registration PIN from your teacher to complete the application

The Concurrent Enrollment Program at WCSU can help you:

  • Save time by completing courses before enrolling into college — meaning more time for extracurriculars and internships
  • Save money by completing part of your college degree with reduced pricing

Participating Schools & Districts

WCSU’s Concurrent Enrollment program enables eligible high school students to enroll in and earn credit in college courses. At only $65 per course, students and families get a great head start and save money on your university education.

Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, and Ridgefield high school students may enroll in college courses while completing their high school curriculum.

Speak To Your Teacher

Your high school teacher will provide a password to be used on the application so you can take this course at your high school.

Earn College Credit

Once you have completed and passed your chosen course you'll receive college credit.

For Students

The Concurrent Enrollment Program allows students, at our participating schools, to earn WCSU credits while taking courses in high school. Explore our course offerings below at your high school and earn 12 or more college credits toward your degree — potentially saving a semester’s worth of your college expenses.
WCSU Early College Experience Teachers

For Teachers

Give your students an advantage. With a written agreement in place between WCSU and a partner school or district, approved high school teachers (under the supervision of a WCSU academic department) are invited to teach WCSU courses at your high school to eligible students.

Any student in an approved Concurrent Enrollment course (usually Juniors and Seniors, but potentially Sophomores) may take these classes.

Your high school teachers will provide a link to our online application and provide a password. Parents complete the form by the deadline (the Friday before the third week of a semester).
