Information Technology & Innovation

Welcome to the information Technology and Innovation (IT&I) website. Here you can learn about the technology and  services available to you and supported by your IT&I team.

We wish a warm welcome back to campus to our Western Connecticut State University students, faculty and staff as we begin the Fall 2021 semester.   We congratulate our recent grads and applaud them along with faculty and staff  for their grit and and determination in dealing with these most difficult and challenging times.

IT Support Guides – Teaching, learning and working remotely and on campus

Your IT&I department is hear to help!  While we begin our return to campus, all of the technology that supported both a virtual and on- campus environment are still in place. Please refer to the IT Guides below to find instructions, support and links to the technology that will help you effectively learn, teach and work –  both remotely and on campus.

Three powerful capabilities that support remote work are Cisco Jabber, Microsoft Teams and several ‘e-meeting’ capabilities that include Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams and BlackBoard Collaborate::

  • Zoom.  Similar to WebEx, MS Teams and BlackBoard Collaborate, allows you to meet virtually.
  • Cisco Jabber delivers instant messaging, voice and video calls, voice messaging, desktop sharing, conferencing, and presence. Find the right people, see whether and how they’re available, and collaborate more effectively.
  • Microsoft Teams is the hub for team collaboration in Microsoft 365 that integrates the people, content, and tools your team needs to be more engaged and connected.
