Save the date for the 2026 Sigma Xi Northeast Regional Research Conference
Saturday April 18, 2026 – One Day In-Person Event
Location: Westside Campus, Western Connecticut State University
Join us for a celebration of interdisciplinary research and learning opportunities. The event will be hosted by the WCSU Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society for interdisciplinary research in the sciences and engineering. This conference provides an opportunity for students and professionals in the Northeastern US to engage in conversation about study and research opportunities and to network with other Sigma Xi researchers from the Northeastern US.
Symposium Theme: The Interdisciplinary Nature of Research

- Dr. Dustin Rubenstein, Sigma Xi Distinguish Lecturer, Thomas Hunt Morgan Professor of Conservation Biology, Columbia University
- Dr. Matthew Tracy, 2025 Rudy Ruggles Interdisciplinary Research Award Recipient, Associate Professor of Chemistry, University of Pittsburg Johnstown
- Dr. Katerina Trepekli, Advisor to the Minister for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Greece, Environmental Scientist & WCSU Visiting Scholar and 2025 Fullbright Candidate
