Novel Coronavirus and COVID-19

Message from the President

To the WCSU Community, Families, Partners, and Future Students:

Western Connecticut State University has made the decision to move our classes online from March 23 through April 5.  This is a response to the anticipated volume of student and faculty travel during that period that could inadvertently increase the spread of COVID-19. To date we have had no reported infections or known exposures, and we are hoping to keep it that way.

We are limiting access to our buildings to WCSU employees only, starting Monday March 16 and continuing through April 5. This will allow our facilities team to do a deep cleaning of our campus and minimize our exposure to any potential carriers of this virus. However, all business functions, admissions functions, teaching, advising, and academic support functions will continue.

During this period, we will limit access to our physical campus, but not our virtual one. We can be reached by phone (https://www.wcsu.edu/directory/) and email, and we will host meetings through our online conferencing software, so do not hesitate to contact us. We are ready to respond to questions, process requests and applications, and provide support for existing and future students. Please stay in touch.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope to see you in April.

Sincerely,

Dr. John Clark, President of Western Connecticut State University
