Location: Wally’s Cupboard – Midtown Student Center, Wolves Den

Description: Wally’s Cupboard Assistants support the daily operations of the on-campus food pantry, ensuring students experiencing food insecurity have access to nutritious food in a welcoming, respectful environment. This role is ideal for students interested in food justice, social services, community outreach, and/or student support. It provides students with hands-on experience in customer services and community engagement.

Requirements/Desired: 

  • Greet and assist patrons with registration, check-in, and item selection.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and donations, which may require lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Organize and stock pantry shelves while maintaining food safety practices.
  • Support special events or programs hosted by Wally’s Cupboard.
  • Adhere to safe food handling and storage practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry space.
  • Prepare emergency request bags.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a current WCSU, full-time, undergraduate student.
  • Must have a valid Federal Work Study (FWS) award as part of your financial aid package.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice nonjudgemental, inclusive behavior.
  • Dependable, punctual, and responsible with assigned shifts and tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently.

Hours/Schedule: Hours TBD 

Pay Rate: $16.35/hr

Payroll Type:  Federal Work Study Only
