Jennifer Ort DNS, RNC MN-N, Department of Nursing
Associate Professor Jennifer Ort joined the faculty of Western Connecticut State University in the Fall of 2012. She received her Nursing undergraduate degree from Dominican College, her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Mercy College, and her Doctorate in Nursing Science in Leadership and Education. Jennifer received her lactation certification from UCLA and is also certified by the National Credentialing Council as a Maternal-Newborn Nurse.
Here at Western, Jennifer teaches maternal-newborn and pediatric nursing. Jennifer has taught in graduate and undergraduate nursing programs as an Adjunct Professor at several other colleges and universities, and before coming to Western, Jennifer was the Chair for the School of Nursing at Monroe College.
In addition to teaching, Jennifer is actively involved in the Future of Nursing initiative as an Action Coalition Task Team Member. She is the president of Kappa Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, and enjoys volunteering on the Nurse Advisory Council for the New York chapter of the March of Dimes, as well as membership in several other professional organizations.
