Artist & Curatorial Proposals

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

The Artist/Curator Submission Period is now CLOSED.
We are no longer accepting exhibition proposals at this time.


Submission Deadline: March 1, 2018

Due to changes to the submission process the deadline has been extended from Feb 1 to March 1, 2018

Individual and curatorial submissions are now being accepted for consideration for the 2019-2020 exhibition season. Open to both established and emerging artists who wish to present new and innovative ideas in the context of an academic gallery space. Submissions will be reviewed and selected by a committee of Department of Art faculty and staff. Submissions do not guarantee exhibition. Each submission will be selected based on artistic quality, conceptual strength and feasibility of the proposed exhibition. Some submissions will be held on file for future exhibitions or possible inclusion in future group exhibitions. Submissions that do not follow the guidelines will not be considered. All applicants will receive notification by the end of May 2018. Submit proposals as multi page pdf documents including images to info.gallery@wcsu.edu. The PDF should be sized as 8.5x11, 300dpi, "best for printing" and include the information listed below. No phone calls please. Any questions or inquiries must be sent to info.gallery@wcsu.edu.

Proposed Title of Exhibition: (Individual artist applicants may just use their name)

Artist / Curators Statement: For individual artist submissions- please include a brief artist statement of no more than one page. For curatorial submissions- please include a curator's statement summarizing the concept of the proposed exhibition including the participating artists and websites (if applicable) and how their work is relevant to the show. Also include any additional exhibition related programming (ie: artist talks, workshops, etc.) that may coincide with this particular exhibition.

Artist / Curator Resume/CV:

Images/Media: All images should be included in the multipage pdf with no more than 6 images to a page. Image info should be listed below the image with artist name, title, medium, dimensions, etc. If video or sound is to be proposed, please include a link to view/listen online.

Individual artist submission should include 10-12 images.

Curatorial submissions should include up to 20 images. Images of actual work to be exhibited are preferred, but comparable images may be substituted if necessary. Curators may also include limited supplemental documents to support and qualify exhibition proposals (ie: catalogs, publications, reviews)
