Composition Embedded Tutors

Location: Haas Library, Midtown Campus
Description:
Composition Embedded Tutors (CETs) work with students in Composition 1 in connection with their faculty partners. CETs may attend class sessions, provide individual and group support, give small lessons to the class, prepare handouts and online support, and hold office hours. CETs will take part in tutor education before the semester begins and throughout the semester. Some CETs may also work as Writing Consultants if qualifications are met.
Requirements/Desired:
- Any major, minimum 15 credits completed by Fall 2024
- Overall (cumulative) GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Excellent writing skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Recommendation from Composition 1 instructor or other faculty member
Hours/Schedule: Fall semester only. Average of 6 hours per week. Monday – Friday, hours vary; spring semester hours may be available.
Pay Rate: $16 / hour
Payroll Type: Department Payroll & Federal Work Study
