OFF-CAMPUS: Events & Marketing Assistant

Location: Off-Campus Site: 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT (15 minutes from Midtown Campus)
Description: Events & Marketing Assistant – Assist Edmond Town Hall with administrative tasks, event planning, marketing and promotion, and be part of the operations team.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist General Manager with office and marketing support
- General office duties, e.g., photocopy, scanning, faxing
- Gain business development experience
- Create social media and distribution schedule to promote events
- Create content/graphics for social media platforms, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok
- Assist with event planning, as needed
Requirements/Desired: Must be eligible for federal work study as part of the financial aid package. Office experience welcomed, but not required. Must have reliable transportation to/from job site.
- Highly motivated with interest in marketing, advertising, public relations
- Strong written and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface at all levels
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy
- Customer service and strong communication skills.
- Tech and interactive media savvy; active on social media and highly curious about new digital trends
- Previous office experience required
Hours/Schedule: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, but based on academic schedule (work study can only be earned during regular academic year, not summer).
Pay Rate: $18 / hour
Payroll Type: Federal Work Study Only
