OFF-CAMPUS: Events & Marketing Assistant

Spring 2024 & 2024-2025

Department: Edmond Town Hall – edmondtownhall.org

Location: Off-Campus Site: 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT (15 minutes from Midtown Campus)

Description: Events & Marketing Assistant – Assist Edmond Town Hall with administrative tasks, event planning, marketing and promotion, and be part of the operations team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist General Manager with office and marketing support
  • General office duties, e.g., photocopy, scanning, faxing
  • Gain business development experience 
  • Create social media and distribution schedule to promote events
  • Create content/graphics for social media platforms, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok
  • Assist with event planning, as needed

Requirements/Desired: Must be eligible for federal work study as part of the financial aid package. Office experience welcomed, but not required. Must have reliable transportation to/from job site.

  • Highly motivated with interest in marketing, advertising, public relations
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service and strong communication skills.
  • Tech and interactive media savvy; active on social media and highly curious about new digital trends
  • Resume is helpful

Hours/Schedule: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, but based on academic schedule – available immediately! (work study can only be earned during regular academic year, not summer)

Pay Rate: $18 / hour

Payroll Type:  Federal Work Study Only
