OFF CAMPUS: Tutors & Youth Program Assistants

Location: Off-Campus Site: 54 West Street, Danbury, CT (5 minutes from the Midtown Campus)
Description: At Harambee, they work together to provide a safe haven for the low-income and minority youth of Danbury, CT; where kids and teens can learn new skills, practice sports, and gain a community to support them! Helping the youth is ensuring security and success in the future of the world.
Tutors – Assist Danbury youth with after-school help in various subjects.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with students after-school as a tutor and mentor
- Assist in planning educational events
- Assist with youth programming
- Potential for creatives to work with youth in the arts and music
Requirements/Desired: Must be eligible for federal work study as part of the financial aid package. Must have reliable transportation to/from job site.
- Highly motivated with interest in working with youth
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Customer service and strong communication skills.
Hours/Schedule: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, but based on academic schedule – Available immediately! (work study can only be earned during the regular academic year, not summer)
Center hours are from 2pm – 10pm; youth tutoring and programs from 4pm – 8pm.
Pay Rate: $18 / hour
Payroll Type: Federal Work Study Only
