Julia Mazurak MSN, Department of Nursing

Julia Mazurak became a full-time assistant professor at Western Connecticut State University in January 2021, after being an adjunct instructor for 3 years. She received her BSN from American University, MSN from the University of Virginia, Nursing Education and Faculty Role Certificate from Drexel University, and is currently enrolled at Teachers College/Columbia University pursuing a Ed.D in Nursing Education.

Professor Mazurak has a variety of pediatric nursing experiences including inpatient, outpatient, school and camp nursing, as well as teaching experiences. Here at WCSU she teaches pediatrics, pediatric lab (simulation), community nursing clinical, and has taught fundamentals and drugs and diagnostics.

Professor Mazurak is a member of Sigma Theta Tau as a member of the Kappa Alpha Chapter at WCSU and the Alpha Zeta Chapter at Columbia University. Currently she is the secretary for the Healthcare Simulation Network of CT. She has published in the area of online simulation in a peer reviewed journal. Her areas of interest include pediatrics, simulation, school health, nursing education, and informatics.
