The WCSU Foundation Inc. receives and manages charitable gifts, ranging from cash to real estate to personal property and more, for support of the university. There are several ways you can contribute to the ongoing success of WestConn and our hard-working students through this tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization. If you'd like to give now, we invite you to make a pledge online through our secure and easy-to-use gift processing system. You also can mail your pledge or a check, made payable to "WCSU Foundation," to Western Connecticut State University, Office of Institutional Advancement, 181 White St., Danbury, Connecticut, 06810.
Giving options
You can donate cash, gifts-in-kind, stocks, bonds,
mutual funds and real estate. Wills, trusts, insurance policies and
other estate planning methods allow you to support the university.
You can generously respond to the university's Annual Fund telephone
and mail appeals or attend a special fund-raising event, such as the WestConn Society Luncheon. Your gift to the Alumni & Friends Circle will expand the beautification and fund-raising program that continues to add to the appeal of the area near Old Main and the majestic old oak tree on the university's Midtown campus. Annual Fund
Your annual fund gift is critical to supporting scholarships, special student awards, academic services, athletic teams, student activities and the WCSU Alumni Association. In addition to the personal satisfaction your gift will give you, you'll receive a variety of other benefits, including recognition on the annual donor list and invitations to special donor recognition events.
Designation of gifts
Once you've decided what you want to give, you can have a say in how it's used. With an unrestricted gift, WestConn will use your donation where it's needed most. Or, you can designate that your restricted gift support a particular school, department, facility or program. If you'd like to create an endowed fund and provide a predictable income, you can create support for student scholarships, buildings, equipment, athletics, library services, supplies, programs or specific departments.
Matching gifts
There are ways to make your gifts even more powerful: Many companies will add to gifts made by employees, their spouses or retirees. Contact your human resources office about your company's matching policy.
