Starting on March 15, 2012, printing in the staffed and 24 hour computer centers at WestConn will be greener than ever!
WestConn is pleased to introduce ConnectPrint, a new system that will help us make printing easier and considerably reduce printer waste and supplies.
ConnectPrint Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What do I need:
A: A valid WestConnect ID card and to be registered for the current or summer term.
Q: How does it work:
A: Print to one of the available printer queues (black & white or color).
Swipe your valid WestConnect ID using the card reader(s) installed near the printers.
Select the job that you wish to print using the adjacent touchscreen.
Select Print. Your remaining balance credits will show up on the touchscreen.
The job will release to the nearest printer. That’s it!
Q: How much does it cost:
A. Don’t worry. Your Student Technology Fee will continue to fund printing services in the computer centers.
Every registered student will receive the following non-transferrable ConnectPrint credits on the 15th of every month during the academic year (August 15th through April 15th):
Full time students will receive $20.00 of credits per month.
Part-time students will receive $10.00 of credits per month.
Summer students will receive $10.00 of credits on May 15th.
So please think before you print. You don’t want to run out of credits!!!
Q: Are there incentives for reducing printouts?
A: Yes! There is a 20% discount for duplex (double-sided) printing, which is already set by default in the computer centers.
Black and White Single Sided: $0.10 of credits per sheet
Black and White Duplex: $0.08 of credits per side
Color Single Sided: $0.20 of credits per sheet
Color Double Sided: $0.16 of credits per side
Q: Where do I go if I need help?
A: A Computer Center Assistant is available for assistance in any of the staffed computer centers. You can also fill out our online form at www.wcsu.edu/technology and select “ConnectPrint” under “IT Essentials” and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
