Kay Schreiber ’79

Magna Cum Laude, Business major, Marketing

Kay moved to Danbury in July 1977 from upstate New York. With her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Broome Community College (Binghamton, NY) in hand, she immediately signed up to finish her bachelor’s degree on a full-time basis. With husband, two daughters, a dog and a house to maintain, all worked out well and WCSU was one fantastic experience, even for a nontraditional student!

Kay currently owns her own business, Kay’s Tours, and books travel of all kinds, but she also tour directs for several companies, as well. She loves travel and meeting people, always learning wherever she goes. Over her career, she was manager of CityCenter Danbury, sales manager for Housatonic Valley Tourism District, worked performing both marketing and sales for a non-medical home care agency, in addition to many other fun and interesting jobs along the way.

Kay has two daughters and four grandchildren. Luckily, Stephanie and Suzanne live nearby. I

Kay has served on several boards over the years, including the Red Cross, Danbury Westerners and the Danbury Museum. She currently serves on the City of Danbury’s Commission for the Aging. She is a member of the Danbury Exchange Club, as well as a Lifetime Member of the WCSU Alumni Association Board of Directors. Currently, Kay is chair of both the Travel Committee and the University Gift Committee.
