Minutes from September 11, 2017 at 3:00 pm in Warner Hall 315

Committee members present: Paul Echeverria, Jessica Eckstein, Rotua Lumbantobing, Rondall Khoo, Helena Prieto (Chair), Forest Robertson, and Cigdem Usekes (Assistant Dean).

Visitor: Pat Boily (Biology and Environmental Science).

Announcements:

1. Introduction of new members: Forest Robertson, Paul Echeverria, and Jessica Eckstein.

2. The scribe for the day is Rondall Khoo.

Old Business:

1. May Meeting Minutes (Stavros Christofi): The minutes were accepted with correction (Usekes/Khoo, 5-0-1). The Chair of the Communication and Media Arts Department present at the May 2017 meeting was Katy Wiss (not Mary Nelson).

New Business:

1. Helena Prieto was reelected chair by acclamation.

2. Proposal from Digital Interactive Media Arts:
a. DIMA addition of art option (CD1617173).
b. New course proposal-ART/DIMA 2XX Fundamentals of Imaging Software 1 (CD1617198).
c. New course proposal-ART/DIMA 2XY Fundamentals of Imaging Software 2 (CD1617199).

The proposals were considered as a packet and rejected pending major revisions.

3. Proposal from Biological and Environmental Sciences:
a. Add MAT120 as a cognate course to Biology majors (CD1617187).

This proposal was approved unanimously (Eckstein/Robertson, 6-0-0).

Meeting was adjourned at 3:30pm.
