Wednesday, Oct. 16:

At 2 p.m., the WCSU field hockey team will play Manhattanville College on the university’s Westside campus. Admission is free.

At 8 p.m. the Department of Music will present a percussion ensemble concert at the Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the Midtown campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

Thursday, Oct. 17:

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Operation Jungle Red will campaign to end violence. Members of the campus community are invited to sign a pledge against violence and paint their pinky nail “Jungle Red” to focus awareness on acts of violence. The event will be held at the Student Center Plaza, Midtown campus, and is free and open to the public.

At 4 p.m., the WCSU women’s tennis team will compete against St. Joseph at the Westside campus tennis courts. Free and open to the public.

At 7 p.m. in the Westside campus’ O’Neill Center, the WCSU volleyball team will play Baruch College. The game is free and the public is welcome

The coffeehouse at WCSU will begin with open mic performers at 8 p.m. followed by featured act, rock/pop duo Aaron and Andrew, in Alumni Hall on the Midtown campus. Free and open to the public.

Friday, Oct. 18:

At 6 p.m. the Hall of Fame dinner and ceremony will be held at the Amber Room Colonnade, 1 Stacey Road in Danbury. Help WCSU celebrate the accomplishments of the alumni athletes, coaches and supporters being inducted into the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame: Nicole Corbin ’06 (Women’s Soccer), Tom Crucitti ’69 (Men’s Soccer), Joseph Giaquinto ’70 (Football, Men’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s Soccer), James Krayeske (Support: First WCSU Football Coach), Christin Morgatto ’05 (Women’s Basketball), Alicia O’Brien ’83, ’86, ’95 (Softball Coach/Associate Athletic Director) and Tina Shanahan O’Marra ’98, ’05 (Women’s Basketball) . At 9 p.m. in the commuter parking lot on the Westside campus, the Student Government Association will hold the return of the bonfire and fireworks celebration to usher in the big day. Free and open to the public.

Saturday, Oct. 19:

From 9 a.m. to noon at the Student Center Theater on the Midtown campus, there will be an admissions tour for those interested. Free and open to the public.

The Homecoming Brunch will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Westside Campus Center Marketplace. The brunch is open to the public. Cost is $10/person or $15/person for brunch and lunch BBQ combined. Children age 10 and under are $5/person.

At 11 a.m. the WCSU volleyball team vs. Bridgewater State in the Feldman Arena, O’Neill Center, Westside campus. The men’s soccer team will also play at 11 a.m. vs. Southern Maine at the Westside campus Athletic Stadium. Both games are free and open to the public.

At 1 p.m. the WCSU women’s tennis team will square off against Rhode Island College at the Westside campus tennis courts. Also at 1 p.m., the men’s rugby team will play Springfield College at the recreation field on the Westside campus. Both events are free and open to the public.

From 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., join the university community at the Homecoming Barbecue. Menu includes: BBQ ribs, fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, southern greens, sweet potato casserole, coleslaw, cornbread, hummingbird cupcakes, sweet potato cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, pecan pie cupcakes, warm apple cider, sweet tea, coffee and decaf. The BBQ is open to the public. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under, and meal-plan students can use their meal swipe. Non-meal plan WCSU students will be free courtesy of the SGA.

At 3 p.m. the WCSU volleyball team will play Wheaton at Feldman Arena in the Westside campus O’Neill Center. Free and open to the public.

The Homecoming Game will kick off at 5 p.m. when the WCSU Colonials play against Fitchburg State at the university’s athletic stadium. Open to the public; cost for admission.
