Public relations expert to speak

DANBURY, CONN. — Bill Imada, chairman and chief executive officer of IW Group, a full-service communications firm that specializes in growing multicultural markets in the U.S., will share his expertise at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the Westside Campus Center Ballroom on the Western Connecticut State University Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury

According to the IW Group’s website, “IW Group is in the center of this ethnic marketing evolution and has become the expert in reaching today’s — and tomorrow’s — fast-evolving Asian-American segment.” Imada is a public relations executive who is an expert on how minorities are represented in the media.

Having received more than 40 prestigious advertising awards in the last five years, IW Group targets markets that previously were difficult to reach. The company’s public relations department was ranked by PR Week as a top 100 PR firm in the U.S. and top 20 in the west for 2010.

Among the various ad campaigns IW Group has executed are Warner Brother’s “Inception,” McDonald’s “Brain,” “Safe” for the 2010 Census, and MetLife’s “Dragon Boat.”

Dr. Ron Drozdenko, chairman of WCSU’s marketing department, invited Imada to speak on campus.

“The WCSU Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association is very pleased that Bill Imada accepted our invitation to speak again on our campus,” Drozdenko said. “We greatly appreciate Mr. Imada’s expert viewpoint on the topic and we look forward to a thought-provoking and dynamic session.”
