DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University will present a poetry reading by Associate Professor of Writing, Linguistics and the Creative Process Dr. Brian Clements at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, in Warner Hall on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The event will be free and open to the public.

Clements is the author of several books of and about poetry, including the anthology “An Introduction to the Prose Poem.” He also has authored several prose poems, including “And How to End It” and “Disappointed Psalms.” Clements is the editor of the small press, Firewheel Editions. His latest work of prose poetry, “Jargon,” was published in December 2010.

Clements said some works in “Jargon” and “And How to End It” were written to go along with each other.

‘“And How to End It’ and ‘Jargon’ are connected by a series of poems that run through the two books, and are composed from language that appears in other poems in the two books, according to a formula based on the Fibonacci sequence,” Clements explained.
