2014 Free performance by the Connecticut Ballet at Ives Concert Park
DANBURY, CONN. — The Connecticut Ballet Summer Dance Caravan will return on Friday, July 25, 2014, to Ives Concert Park on the Western Connecticut State University Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The free performance will be at 7:30 p.m. and is suitable for all ages. There also will be a free master ballroom class taught by John Vitti before the show at 6 p.m., and a ‘meet-and-greet’ after-party onstage with the dancers from 9 to 10 p.m.
This year’s performance, ‘Danza!’ is a celebration of Latin choreographers both classical and contemporary, and will showcase a number of works by Rodney Rivera of Puerto Rico, Alberto Alonso of Cuba, Daniel Fetecua Soto of Colombia and Marcos Vedoveto of Brazil. The event is part of the Newtown Savings Bank Fine Arts & Family series, which will bring other family-friendly performances to Ives Concert Park throughout the summer.
