Furlough Day 2

DANBURY, CONN. — To help address the state’s budget issues, administrative offices at Western Connecticut State University will observe Independence Day on Friday, July 3, and remain closed on Monday, July 6. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, July 7.

Previously scheduled classes and camps will be held. Those who are on campus and must report an emergency should call 9-1-1 or the WCSU Police Department dispatcher at (203) 837-9300.

State employee unions and the governor’s office negotiated an agreement that will result in workers taking seven unpaid furlough days over the next two years. To minimize disruption of services to the public, the furloughs will be scheduled to occur on days that are normally less busy.

For more information, call the office of University Relations at (203) 837-8486.
