Hirshfield will perform works by Frederic Chopin, Piet Swerts, Alexander Scriabin and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Also featured will be the premiere of “Sundials” by WCSU Professor of Music Dr. Kevin Jay Isaacs. In “Sundials,” his most significant solo piano work to date, Isaacs draws inspiration from the aphorisms or mottoes inscribed on garden sundials. The eight piano pieces are musical depictions that reflect the transitory nature of time.

Tickets are $20 for the public and $10 for senior citizens and non-WCSU students, plus fees. For tickets, go to www.wcsu.edu/tickets or call (203) 837-TIXX. For a complete list of similar SVPA events, visit www.wcsu.edu/svpa/events.asp.
