2014 WCSU police to partner with Bethel PD to collect holiday toys
DANBURY, CONN. — The Western Connecticut State University Police Department, in conjunction with the Bethel Police Department, will hold a toy drive to benefit the Connecticut Department of Children and Families from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 and 14, 2014, at Target, 7 Stony Hill Road in Bethel. The public is invited to participate.
According to WCSU police Sgt. Richard Montefusco, “For the past several years, we have conducted the annual Christmas Toy Drive. Each year it has grown larger and has produced thousands of toys for children and teens under the care of DCF. This year, it is shaping up to be even bigger because we have partnered with the Bethel Police Department and Target of Bethel. Target has agreed to sponsor and donate to us, which is a huge plus for all involved.”
Among the items being solicited are new, unwrapped MP3 players and iTunes gift cards for teenagers; winter jackets and sweatshirts for children of all ages; toys for young children, including babies; and books, CDs and DVDs.
