DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University has released its Midtown Coffeehouse schedule for fall 2016.  The Coffeehouse will feature a weekly 8 p.m. open mic, followed at 9 p.m. by a feature act performance, on Thursdays during the fall semester in the Colonial Corner (formerly the downstairs cafeteria and snack bar, Student Center) on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Admission is free and open to the public, although donations to support the Coffeehouse are welcome and appreciated.

Upcoming performers will include:

• Sept. 15: Singer-songwriter Matt Sucich from Queens, New York. Sucich’s eclectic blend of rock and folk has graced the stage at Firefly Music Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and many other famous venues around the country.

• Sept. 22: One-man-band Gary Johnson, who performs every show 100 percent by text message request. Johnson spontaneously replicates all of the instruments, vocals, background vocals, and even special effects using only his guitar, his voice and a one-of-a-kind loopstation.

• Sept. 29: Singer Ian Murray, WCSU senior and aspiring artist from Oxford with influences ranging from Regina Spektor and Kimbra, to Ryan Hunter and Hozier. Opening act: Toure.
