2014 Business ethics expert Ron Nahser to lecture on Nov. 11
DANBURY, CONN. — Dr. Ron Nahser, an internationally recognized consultant, author and lecturer specializing in professional ethics, will discuss the integration of sustainable management and social responsibility in corporate business practices in a lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Western Connecticut State University.
Nahser, Senior Wicklander Fellow at DePaul University’s Institute for Business and Professional Ethics, will speak about “Sustainable/Ethical Management, Corporate Responsibility and Marketing Strategy” at 7 p.m. in Room 218 of the Classroom Building on the Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The lecture is co-sponsored by Western’s Ancell School of Business and Center for Compassion, Creativity and Innovation. Admission will be free and the public is invited to attend.
Nahser has lectured and consulted widely in the business and academic fields, addressing a diverse range of themes including business values and vision, marketing strategy, branding, social responsibility and integrative sustainable management. He is the author of “Learning to Read the Signs: Reclaiming Pragmatism in Business” and “Journeys to Oxford: Nine Pragmatic Inquiries into the Practice of Values in Business and Education.”
Recipient of a Ph.D. in American business philosophy from DePaul University, Nahser also currently serves as a fellow of the Oxford Leadership Academy and as managing partner of Corporantes, a Chicago-based business consultancy firm. He previously served as chairman and president of The Nahser Agency, a Chicago advertising firm, and as provost of the Presidio School of Management in San Francisco, which introduced the first accredited Master of Business Administration in sustainable management. As part of his faculty responsibilities as Senior Wicklander Fellow, he has led the launch of the Executive Education Program on Integrative Sustainable Management at DePaul.
Nahser has developed a strategic business problem-solving model known as “PathFinder Pragmatic Inquiry,” which has been used by more than 100 major companies and colleges including 3M, Levi Strauss and Company, Quaker Oats, Time Inc., Harris Bank and business schools at DePaul, Stanford University, Northwestern University and the University of California at Berkeley. He has served on the boards of several business ethics organizations and academic institutions.
