DANBURY, CONN. — Several well-known authors, faculty mentors and one of Western Connecticut State University’s M.F.A. graduates will share their works at public evening readings held from Tuesday, Dec. 28, through Saturday, Jan. 1, as part of the university’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative and Professional Writing program’s Winter Residency.

The reading times and locations are as follows:

• Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m.: Readings by Paola Corso and Don Snyder at the Maron Hotel, 42 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Corso recently released her new book, “Catina’s Haircut: A Novel in Stories,” and Snyder’s “The Winter Travelers” is due out in 2011.

• Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m.: Roger Boylan will read from “The Great Pint-Pulling Olympiad” and from his nearly finished novel, “Ohiowa Impromptu,” and Elizabeth Cohen will read some of her new work at Alumni Hall on Western’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.

• Thursday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m.: Readings by Daniel Asa Rose and Dan Pope will be followed by poetry readings at the Maron Hotel.

• Saturday, Jan. 1, at 7 p.m.: M.F.A. graduate Laura Hayden will read from her thesis, “Staying Alive: A Love Story,” at the Maron Hotel. An open mic session will follow.
