WCSU 2016 – Western Community Service Project Connect


DANBURY, CONN. Western Connecticut State University will host an event on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, to help local individuals and families in need of homeless support and other community service aid.

Western Community Service Project Connect will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bill Williams Gym in Berkshire Hall on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.

Social service advocates and student volunteers will provide a one-stop housing and service fair that brings together more than 60 area agencies to provide immediate assistance to individuals who are homeless or in need of housing and social services assistance.

Attendees will be offered health services, housing advocacy, veterans’ services and employment counseling. Daryle Dennis, WCSU interim vice president of Multicultural Affairs & Affirmative Action Programs, is the coordinator of the event.
