2015 WCSU recognizes Women’s History Month


Image of Women's History Month posterDANBURY, CONN. Western Connecticut State University will honor Women’s History Month with the following events scheduled for March. All events are on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The events are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, March 3, 12:15-1:15 p.m.: “What Women Carried and Wore: An Historical Fashion Show and Luncheon,” Warner Hall Room 102.

Wednesday, March 4, 12:15-1:15 p.m.: “Semiotic Theory of Iconic Realism in Women’s Artistic Expression,” Haas Library 508.

Wednesday, March 11, 11 a.m.-noon: “The International GLOW Leadership Program for Women,” Student Center Room 202.

Monday, March 23, 2-3 p.m.: “Eking Out a Living: Women and Work in the Middle East,” Warner Hall Room 102.

Wednesday, March 25, 11 a.m.-noon: “Preventing Dangerous Dating Practices,” Student Center Theater Room 201.

Wednesday, March 25, 12:15–1:15 p.m.: “Negotiation Skills for Women,” White Hall 127.

Thursday, March 26, 7–8:30 p.m.: Seventh Annual Mentor of the Year Award: Skip Jennings, Student Center Theater.

Monday, March 30, 6-8 p.m.: “Strong Women and Their Stories,” Student Center Theater.
