Barry Hartglass

For over 30 years, Barry Hartglass has been active working as a producer, engineer, composer, arranger and musician.  He has produced and engineered hundreds of recordings (tracking, editing, mixing and mastering) in commercial recording studios in NY, NJ and CT, and in his own home studio in Carmel, NY, and has also worked as a live sound engineer for numerous indoor and outdoor events.  Barry has composed and arranged music for apps and websites, sales and marketing presentations, theatrical productions, and for TV, film, video and games, and has composed original chamber and orchestral music, jazz and electronic music, and songs (words and music) in various styles.  He has performed at over 1000 private events, and in pop, rock, jazz, fusion and contemporary chamber music ensembles playing multiple instruments.  Barry also teaches private lessons in music theory and composition, music production and electronic music, bass, guitar, piano and saxophone, and other instruments.

For many years, Barry has worked as an adjunct professor teaching courses in music theory and ear training, electronic music, music production, audio recording and sound design, and private instruction in composition and songwriting. He has taught classes and private lessons at SUNY Westchester Community College, CUNY Hostos Community College, Hofstra University, Five Towns College, and Mercy College.

Barry has a Master of Arts in Music Composition from CUNY Hunter College and a Bachelor of Music in Music Engineering Technology from University of Miami. He also studied Composition and Contemporary Music at The Juilliard School, and Music for Film at New York University.
