Shadow Day

As a prospective music student, you are encouraged to spend a day following the schedule of a WCSU Music student. The Colonial For a Day program provides the opportunity to sit in on classes and rehearsals, meet our faculty and current music students, eat lunch as a guest of the Department of Music in The Campus Center Westside Marketplace, and get a feel for life on campus.

Pre-set schedules have been created to make the most of your time here.  Please submit the Colonial For a Day Request Form by clicking here.  You will receive a confirmation via email, along with further instructions. Please note you must submit the form at least three weeks in advance of your visit. Any forms received after this point will only be considered if there is availability.

Dates available to schedule a visit:

Colonial For a Day visits will not be scheduled during the summer, on weekends,  Fridays or on WCSU holidays

Recommended days for visiting by area

On these days, you will have the best opportunities to sit in on our ensembles and various course offerings. A typical day will be from 8am to 2pm or 3pm. We also invite you to check out School of Visual and Performing Arts event page to see if there’s a performance that could coincide with your visit. If you would like a pair of complimentary tickets to an event please email Laura Piechota.

Shadow days will be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday by major during the weeks beginning 10/18; 10/25; 11/8 and 11/15.  Space is limited and reservations must be made in advance.  Detailed instructions and schedules will be sent out to attendees one week prior to visit date.
