DANBURY, CONN. — The Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts will present “Alice in Wonderland: The Manhattan Project” in three performances at WCSU on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28, 2013.

Performances will be at 3 and 7 p.m. on April 27 and at 3 p.m. on April 28, in the Berkshire Theatre on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Tickets will be $15 for general admission and $10 for seniors and non-WCSU students with I.D. WCSU students with a valid I.D will be admitted free.

The WCSU production of “Alice in Wonderland” follows the classic children’s tale with an experimental twist and special focus on movement. It features a young girl named Alice whose curiosity gets the better of her when she follows the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole. From there, she arrives in Wonderland, a mysterious place filled with strange creatures, leading to crazy adventures.

Kera Lalli, of Stamford, will perform the role of Alice. Other members of the WCSU student cast include Brianna Bagely, of Stafford Springs, as Lewis #3 and Hare; Jennifer Bavone, of Watertown, as Lory, Frog and White Queen; Melanie Capparelli, of Lagrangeville, N.Y., as White Rabbit, Crab and Forest; Antonio Delgado, of East Hartford, as Lewis #4 and Cat; Jim Goggin, of Naugatuck, as Dodson/Jerry/Larry, Dodo, Hatter and White Knight; Mark Joy, of Winsted, as Lewis #2, Cook and Humpty; Kera Lalli, of Stamford, as Alice; Frankie Ann Marcelle, of Mystic, as Mouse and Doormouse; Katrina Sebastian, of Plainville, as Lewis #1, Duchess and Red Queen; Kezia Waters, of Waterbury, as Duck, Caterpillar and Queen; and Brittany Wigglesworth, of Westbrook, as Lewis #5 and Forest.

The director is Sean Harris with Pamela McDaniel and Sal Trapani serving as producers. Other crew members include Frank Herbert as technical supervisor, Elizabeth Popiel as scenic designer, Scott Cally as lighting designer, Valerie Henry as costume designer, Joni Johns Lerner as costume shop manager, Abra Stanley Leonard as management consultant, Kevin Sosbe as technical director, Collin Murray as sound engineer, Chip Machokas as sound designer, Laura O’Donoghue as stage manager, Matthew Terzigni as production manager, and Anna Morse as dramaturgist.
