2015 WCSU to present ‘The Cat in the Hat’ in May
DANBURY, CONN. — The Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts will present “The Cat in the Hat” at 3 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015, in the MainStage Theatre of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.
One of Dr. Seuss’ best-loved stories, “The Cat in the Hat” will bring out the childhood imagination for viewers of all ages and is perfect for the whole family.
The WCSU cast will include Howard Powell, of West Haven, as the Cat; Michael Battista, of North Haven, as the Fish; Alexandra Allyn, of Trumbull, as Thing 1; Jared Starky, of Columbia, as Thing 2; Tomas Ovitt, of New Milford, as the Boy; Jennifer Wilson, of West Haven, as Sally; Dan Dressel, of Southbury, and Christina Branfur, of Northford, as the Ensemble/Puppeteers; and Stephanie Brown, of Waterbury, as Mother. Dressel and Branfur also will be the understudies for Cat and Fish along with Johnna Fettinger, of Southbury, who is the Swing/Understudy. Anthony DePoto will direct.
