BS in Applied and Computational Mathematics

Western Connecticut State University’s (WCSU) Math Department is pleased to announce that it will offer a BS in Applied and Computational Mathematics starting in fall 2020. The degree was approved on May 14, 2020 and has three options, namely Mathematics of Data Science and Machine Learning, Actuarial Science, and Applied Differential Equations & Scientific computing. Students will be required to take a designated 12-14 credits of Non-MAT courses in the major in areas such as finance and economics for the Actuarial Science option, computer science for the Mathematics of Data Science and Machine Learning Option, either chemistry or physics and meteorology for the Applied Differential Equations & Scientific computing option.
