Location: Midtown & Westside Campuses

Description: Each building has an info desk near the entry.  The desk is staffed by student employees who are responsible for identifying who is coming into the building, along with a variety of other tasks. They are the second level of access control to buildings after the locks. Info desk staff will ask everyone entering the building for an ID to ascertain whether they are residents or guests. If a guest, the info desk staff will assist with contacting the resident, who is required to come to the desk to sign guests into the building.

Responsibilities include:

• Mail delivery
• Sign-out of games and equipment
• Phone duty and directing calls appropriately
• Signing guests into the hall
• Attending desk worker meetings
• Being on time for scheduled shifts
• Using customer service skills when residents have questions
• Assessing situations and working with the Resident Assistants to handle situations
• Saying hello and being friendly to all who come into the hall
• Utilizing strong communication skills to communicate with staff members if help is needed
• Staying attentive and alert at the front desk
• Assist the Resident Assistants in crisis management and policy enforcement

Requirements:

• No prior judicial history
• 2.0 Cumulative GPA
• Full-Time Enrollment
• A good attitude
• Flexibility
• Ability to work at least 5 hours a week
• Must be able to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends every single week

Hours/Schedule: 5-20 hours per week

Desk hours of operation are:

Monday-Wednesday: 10:50am-11:50pm
Thursday-Friday: 10:50am-1:50am
Saturday: 11:50am-1:50am
Sunday: 11:50am-11:50pm

Pay Rate: $16.94 / hr.

Payroll Type: Department Payroll & Federal Work Study
