Academic Advising
Western has a holistic model of academic advisement which provides every student with an advisor starting with the University Advisement Center, and then moving to a Faculty Advisor from their declared major.
Students are responsible for initiating contact with their assigned advisor early in each semester to form a relationship with their advisor and in order to:
- Create a plan and course-sequencing layout toward graduation.
- Once a plan is in place, and course selections have been reviewed, a registration PIN is provided by your advisor.
You may access your advisor information and specific registration date by logging on the WolvesNet (you may be asked to login to your WCSU account). You can find your advisor information on the “Student Success Team” Card. Your registration date can be found by following the steps below from WolvesNet:
- Search for the “Student Resources” card
- Click “My Registration Info”.
- Click “Prepare for Registration”.
If you are having difficulty contacting your assigned advisor, please contact the academic department chairperson for your major, or the department secretary. You may look up contact information in the on-line directory for the university.
For more information on advisors, please visit the University Advisement Center website.
