Description: The Tween & Teen Programming Manager is responsible for overseeing engaging, high-impact programs for middle and high school youth. This role focuses on fostering leadership, character development, and meaningful engagement through Club-based programming, school partnerships, and special events. The Manager will play a key role in building strong relationships with teens and creating a safe, inclusive, and dynamic environment aligned with BGCRE’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate Torch Clubs at John Read Middle School (JRMS) and Helen Keller Middle School (HKMS), focusing on service, leadership, and community engagement
- Lead and grow the Keystone Club for high school students, supporting leadership development, service projects, and college/career readiness
- Plan, promote, and execute Teen Nights and other special events that attract and retain teen participation
- Provide coverage and supervision for middle and high school after-school hangouts
- Build strong relationships with members, serving as a positive role model and mentor
- Collaborate with school administrators and staff at JRMS, HKMS, and Joel Barlow High School
- Partner with the Barlow Career Center to support career exploration, job readiness, and workforce development opportunities for teens
Requirements:
- Seeking degree in education, youth development, recreation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience working with middle and high school youth with ability to build meaningful relationships with teens and serve as a positive role model
- Experience with program planning and event coordination preferred
- Passion for youth development and commitment to the BGCRE mission
Hours/Schedule: Primarily afternoon and occasional evening hours to align with after-school and teen programming. Occasional weekends for events and special programs.
Pay Rate: $19.00 / hr.
