Summer 2026 – Summer Garden Manager

Location: Jane Goodall Permaculture Garden
Description: The Garden Manager will help plan and maintain the summer vegetable, fruit and pollinator garden for May-August. Vegetables need to be planted, weeded, harvested, and delivered to Daily Bread food pantry in Danbury. Pollinator beds need to be hand weeded to remove invasive plants without harming the other plants. Fruit trees and vegetables need to be inspected and treated for pests and disease. The manager will need to move soil and mulch as needed. The manager will also maintain and expand native pollinator beds on campus.
Requirements/Desired: Must have own transportation and the ability to lift heavy objects. Must be available most of the summer and willing to work in unpleasant weather. Experience with growing food, interest in organic and permaculture practices, interest or experience in food security and public welfare
Hours/Schedule: Weekday and Weekend mornings. Must be available for weekly on-campus meetings.
Pay Rate: $17.50 / hour
